Celebrating CMS with songs from favorite movies and TV shows
Have you ever been in a theater with 260 people who are singing together? If you’ve never experienced this, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve sung with others, it’s really big fun!
But don’t take our word for it. Come to the Camden Music School’s (CMS) Singin’ at the Screen sing-along at 7 p.m. Friday, April 4 at the Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway.
The star of the show is you, the audience. You’ll be singing hit songs from movies and TV shows like Happy (from Despicable Me 2), Love is All Around (from the Mary Tyler Moore Show), themes from Gilligan’s Island and The Beverly Hillbillies, Seasons of Love (from Rent), Moon River (from Breakfast at Tiffany’s), and many more, plus a few classic TV commercials.
All of the song lyrics are projected on screen so it’s easy to sing along. Singers of all abilities and “just listeners” are welcome.
The extraordinarily talented Dan Chouinard is host for the evening. T. Mychael Rambo, Dane Stauffer, Prudence Johnson, Katy Hays and Gary Rue are the song leaders. All the singing is backed by an amazing band comprised of Bill Chouinard on bass, Daryl Boudreaux on percussion, Gary Rue on guitar, Dave Hanzel on drums, and of course Chouinard on piano.
Camden Music School is closing in June, and they’re “going out on a high note” with this grand finale sing-along celebration. Come and sing ‘n smile the whole night long.
