Victory Memorial Parkway improvements continue with new lights

ity workers recently began installing the bases for new lights along Victory Memorial Parkway. Planned resoration improvements also include restoration of the Flagpole Plaza and Lincoln Statue areas, and for gateway monuments at Lowry and Humboldt Avenues.
The City received a state grant of $1 million, to be administered through the Metropolitan Council, for improvements along the parkway. The intent of the funds is to complete improvements within the 2004 Victory Memorial Master Plan.
The majority of the funding received will be used for replacing existing parkway lighting, the installation of new trail lighting and the installation of a few sidewalk connections. Photo by Randy Klauk.
