I have lived in the 4th Ward for over 15 years and my wife has been in the ward nearly 40 years. My mother-in-law still lives in the ward. My wife attended school in the area, my son graduated from Patrick Henry in 2007 and my daughter is currently a senior at Patrick Henry High. We, as well as many of you, have come or remained in the area because we see the beauty in the location, diversity and the potential within the ward.
I envision successful businesses lining the main business areas of the ward. Residents working together, the City Council being encouraged by a true representative of the 4th Ward, to support development in the ward, not because we are not capable of helping our neighborhoods, but because we deserve their support.
As councilperson I will continue to remain active and work with 4th Ward residents. Our community is ready and willing to work with a true leader that will sincerely team with the residents and neighborhoods to better our ward. I will be committed to building upon the already established relationships that I have with our high school staff, volunteers, neighborhood groups, seniors, youth and residents that chose to call the 4th Ward home. I will continue to engage residents that have not had the representation that they deserve.
I will work with our community to welcome new residents to our neighborhoods. I will lead the ward in furthering the visions of our community residents. I will be very effective in ensuring residents that their opinions, input and help is not just heard but is very important to our rebuilding process. Together we will "Refresh Our Community."
I do not take your vote or consideration lightly. I am very proud to be able to have earned the support of so many of our neighbors. I understand what our residents are expecting in our next councilperson and I am capable and committed to providing the 4th Ward with the leadership we expect.
