Lowry Avenue is finally open

Lowry Avenue opened to traffic on November 1, from the Lowry Bridge to Theodore Wirth Parkway and Victory Memorial Drive. It will remain open until the final phase of the renovation begins next spring. This two-year project is a total reconstruction of Lowry Avenue including new storm sewer, curbs and gutters, pavement, sidewalks, retaining walls and traffic signal systems. Much of the avenue also got landscaping, bike lanes on both sides of the street, and bump out areas for parking. The 2009 construction will be from Theodore Wirth Parkway to Queen Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2009. All the Lowry businesses were hit hard financially during the construction - so stop in now and show your support!
