Youth reach out and encourage leadership

Youth from Camden and the metro area came to the Camden Youth Engagement Project's YOUth Leadership Summit on March 12 and 13 at Folwell Park. The Camden Youth Engagement Project (CYEP) had 10 special guests including Emily Erickson, Jacqueline Matthias, Angi Haeny, Lady K and Class Act (pictured above), NOSD clothing line, Greg Hildebrandt, Kappa's, Madd Dads, Planned Parenthood and Sgt. Deneen, all covering topics from knowing your rights as juveniles, financial management, to leadership and goal setting. Motivational speakers like local Ferome Brown shared their life stories and national guest speaker Kenny Ray Morgan shared tips about having a positive mental attitude, having goals, and being committed for "Unleashing the Leader in You!"

Another event highlight was a Michael Jackson tribute performance by "Legacy." Many thanks to those who donated to this event: Papa's Restaurant and Deli, Cub Foods, Folwell Park, Admission Possible, and all the special guest speakers, volunteers and guests who attended this special premiere CYEP event.
