St. Bridget prepares to celebrate centennial
03/01/2014
The Parish Community of St. Bridget, a Roman Catholic community of faith on the Northside, is preparing to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2015. Established by Archbishop John Ireland in May 1915, the parish has made its home on the corner of Dowling and Emerson Avenues in North Minneapolis since that time.
If you are a former parishioner, parish school alumni, or someone who used to live in the neighborhood around the parish, we invite you to help us plan the various celebrations that will mark this milestone anniversary.
At the present time, planned activities include a block party, all-school reunion, centenary dinner dance, a pilgrimage to Ireland and the Monastery of St. Bridget at Kildare, and various religious celebrations throughout the year. The year of jubilee will begin in November 2014 and conclude in November 2015.
For info or, if you are willing to help plan these celebrations, call the parish office at 612-529-7779. And check out stbridgetnorthside.
