Government should do more

I am a ninth grader at Patrick Henry High School. We are currently learning about government in Civics. I find it wrong that the government does not do enough for people who live in poverty. Many people are homeless and poor. There are also many abandoned homes. I think the government should tear down the old homes and turn them into homeless shelters, recreation centers and homes for the poor.
I think the government should provide more jobs too. Many U.S. companies are outsourcing their jobs, I think if companies kept their jobs in the U.S. the number of people living in poverty will drop. These are only few suggestions but I think it will make a difference in the economy and decrease the percentage of people living in poverty.
