Heads up on wild wildlife

On a recent evening around 8:30 p.m., I stepped outside to water the newly-planted tree on the boulevard when I saw from the corner of my eye what I thought was a dog trotting down the sidewalk. I looked again and was startled to see that it was a coyote! I’ve seen them out in the wild, but never in town. I’m guessing it followed Shingle Creek, perhaps?

I know it’s not unusual anymore to see wildlife in urban areas (not always a good thing), and I’m not familiar with coyote eating habits, but it’s another good reason to not let your pets run around unattended. The rabbits and squirrels will have to fend for themselves!
