Loring School connecting with our community
By: Ryan Gibbs 10/01/2011
I want to thank all of the wonderful community members and families for welcoming me as the new principal for Loring Community School. My name is Ryan Gibbs and I’ve been a resident of the Victory Neighborhood since 2001. It’s so wonderful to be able to work in the neighborhood I love. Loring is really working hard to form more community connections this year. We currently have an amazing Kids Cook program that offers summer enrichment programs for local residents as well as educational opportunities for the students at Loring during the school year. We also have volunteer master gardeners that help maintain our wonderful garden.
We would like to hold a community garage sale to help raise money for our school on Saturday, November 5 from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Loring will be accepting donations from the community during the week of November 1-4. Residents are encouraged to drop off an item they’d like to donate during that week and students will work on pricing items and will also help run the sale. All proceeds will go towards enrichment experiences for our children. I look forward to working closely with our community to continue a tradition of excellence here at Loring Elementary School.
Ryan Gibbs,
Loring Elementary School Principal
