New and old faces
By: Thomas Cramer 08/01/2008
I had the uncanny experience in our neighborhood of meeting some nice faces; while sandblasting some old faces.
The North Side Life Care Center at 44th and Thomas Ave. has gratefully received funding from the Victory Neighborhood Association through their Business Improvement Matching Program. This program, administered by Warren Ditch, at the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation, (612-588-3033) will help us repaint our exterior walls and improve the neighborhood as well.
Well, I had the “privilege” of notifying my nearby neighbors that we would need to sandblast the face of our walls first. While walking door to door, I was pleasantly surprised to meet two new families who had happily moved in less than 30 days ago. I welcomed them, explaining that we were celebrating our 30th anniversary in this community, and how grateful we were as well.
Others may feel that the neighborhood needs new life. It is North Side Life Care Center’s experience that while cleaning up the old faces of our building, we discovered plenty of new ones already here.
