Thanks for the memories

I forget who originally said “change is inevitable…growth is optional” but change and growth are both about to happen for Webber and Victory Parks. After eight wonderfully funny, challenging and educational years as park director, I have been transferred to McRae Park on the Southside.
There have been so many amazing people who have entered my life on a professional level and then we became friends. I publicly thank them, for without their encouragement, pearls of wisdom, humor and compassion these two parks would not be anywhere near the dynamic ‘neighborhoods’ that they have become. Victory Park: Debbie Nelson, Ann Kaari, Kathy Hartwell, Steve Campagnola, John Trombley and the rest of the neighborhood board. Webber Park: Pastor Linda, Stephanie, MaryAnn, Bonnie, Roberta and the rest of the board, Mary Martinson, Sue and Dale Holmequist, “our Webber Park Librarian” Barb, Steve the “Horse Volunteer,” Janet, Jen and the many wonderful neighbors that I have had the privilege of getting to know.
Eight years can pack a lot of memories, some highlights for me were: Showboat Days, the Victory Neighborhood Garage Sales, all of the ice cream socials, the development and success of the Flagpole Concerts and Frosty Fun. I know that the new Webber Park Director Emily, will continue the successes that I have had and will bring with her creative new ideas for programming, sports and special events.
I know that I am forgetting many people but please know that I thank you and have always appreciated everything that you have done for me and the Webber and Victory Parks that you have served, played in, volunteered for, and just hung out in! Thank you all, and its time to embrace change and encourage growth!
