As an openly gay man I take comfort in knowing that so many of you in the Camden Community will be supporting the gay community by voting “no” on the upcoming ballot measure to limit marriage to one man and one woman. I have noticed a sea of bright orange signs everywhere supporting “Vote No” on this issue. Knowing your strong support and having experienced your friendliness has keep me a Northsider for over 15 years. At many times I have thought how easy it would be for me to just move elsewhere…but the strong sense of community and friends I have made would make it very difficult to do so.

Many of you have recognized that having a large G/L/B/T community living on the Northside is a sign that good things are happening. The overall public tends to perceive that where there is a large contingent of G/L/B/T people in a neighborhood that this is a desirable place to live. I certainly do.
